Some group out of Illinois is pretending they are UPS sending physical invoices. I got one and I instantly smelled a rat because I don’t use my UPS account for anything. Sure enough the return address on the invoice was different from the header address they stole from UPS. So I googled the number 888-693-1044 and the address “UPS , Lockbox 577 , Carol Stream IL, 60132”. Sure enough several posts about fraud. Let’s flood these fools. Fuckers.
Wow, this reminds me of fraudsters from 20 + years ago. Their m.o. was to send invoices for toner cartridges to thousands of businesses, small amounts, $139.95 or some random amount that could potentially be paid by A/P without much scrutiny. They were playing a numbers game, until they got busted.
