Something Crazy Just Happened

I was trying to call a scammer. After a bit of ringing, I was able to talk to someone for a bit. I hung up. I called again. It rang for a bit, then a robotic voice said, “Be careful. Indian scammers. India scammers will rob you.” Then it hung up.

How!?!

By the way number is (866) 457-6214

I just got the same thing

There are hundreds of numbers with this voicemail message hacked onto them
a lot have been deactivated, probably after they hear it
I wonder how that happens?

hmmmm  :smirk:

For a laugh call this number and giggle at what you hear
I also know dozens of these numbers which have this hacked into their voicemail menus
I won’t say what alleged company it is because it is not active a lot of the time on these numbers
They have hundreds of numbers they rotate activity on daily

7027800504

:joy:

:joy::joy::rofl::rofl: That is the work of a good Samaritan, one who we all know, but shall remain anonymous. I love when they hack into their voicemail system!! :fist:t3::fist:t3:

And, by the way, don’t leave a message letting them know that it’s there. :joy:

“to speak with representative, please press 1.”

Which I did, and it always comes back as “no input detected. Disconnecting.”

Perhaps try calling again
They’re active doing their supportings and stuffs

After some experience doing this, you’ll start to notice things like distinct ring tones, hold music, verbiage (if they use the out of the box provided recordings), which can help you figure out default logins. Press buttons while on hold or hearing a recording (like # or * ). When scammers were using magic jack, it was stupid easy to get into their voice mail, change the “busy recording”, then flood their call center will calls. The way magic jack worked, each number could only handle one call, so it was really easy to hold them down, warn any callers by changing the voicemail prompt, & reporting the number generally got it shutdown within 24 hours.

That’s really funny
How much experience do I need to get?
I call in excess of 100 thousand numbers a month just searching and verifying activity status of any of the 1000 refund or tech support numbers I locate daily
That’s thousand with capital “T”
I’ve made just under 2 million calls this year
I think I have more experience than anyone in regards to scam numbers

I find hundreds of numbers during the hours of midnight to 6 am US eastern time
I can tell what is likely to be on a number by hearing the first millisecond of the ringtone or the menu.
I think I’ll be okay working things out but thanks for the helpful advice. :+1:

BiggusPrickus your “lack of experience” has made you a legend in the scam baiting community. I love it when folks try to offer advice to YOU, when you’ve spent literally YEARS doing what you do. No one does it better, and like the old EF Hutton TV commecials used to say “When BiggusPrickus talks, EVERYONE listens.” Cheers my friend, keep up the great work - it’s appreciated more than you’ll ever know.

Oh calm down. Someone was asking a question & I was joining the conversation. Huge crime. Didn’t mean to step on your ego. For crying out loud, I thought we were all friends here.

I’ve made just under 2000 calls already today and found 65 typical refund/tech support toll free numbers which are in the process of being demolished
Along with the several hundred other certain scams for investigation later after hours we both do.

I’ll be setting one of my rank amateur dialling programs searching for toll numbers soon, so get your flooder ready buddy.

Zero time wasted…zero victims!!

I remain at the ready to smack them down, my friend. They can run, but they can’t hide; we’ll destroy them the instant they bring their numbers online. So simple a concept, really - take away their ability to make and receive calls and they CAN’T steal money.

Zero time wasted… zero victims

Yeah @LordOfTheRings - the average 1000 numbers you find DAILY isn’t SQUAT! Just because the majority of them are never even seen because they’re taken down by our international team before they have a chance to even get started is meaningless here! Now get it together you slacker! Let’s pump those numbers up you rookie! Hahahahahaha!

On 5th of June, it was a pop-up.
A good Samaritan hacked their voice mail.

The VM was hacked in June when they were Pop-up scammers.

@Doo_Won_Ting
Doo! Long time, my brother! I don’t think I’ve seen you around since our days on GF. Hope you are doing good, man!

Is this the same number? I remember that now, Doc. I can’t believe they haven’t noticed it yet
