Surprisingly, there were no false claims of my SSN behind used to launder money and smuggle drugs through the US-Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas. This was instead your typical refund scam.
After he berated me for yelling, I faked his ConnectWise not working and forced “Mark” to use AnyDesk and ask me to log into my nonexistent bank account.
Since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to hang up the call to accept a callback from his “senior supervisor, Mark,” from his TextNow number (818) 538-5516, and he threatened to have the FBI arrest me and lock me up for 20 years for simply yelling at him.
“Mark” then asked me if I was using a smartphone before asking me to purchase four $500 Apple gift cards. I pulled up the Bhenchod Song under the guise of a Google Maps listing for a local CVS.
There’s some idiot smart ass prick scammers who spoof scambaiters caller ID’s all the time
I’d like a dollar for every time geniuses who use r/ScamNumbers on reddit have listed any of the hundreds of caller ID’s we have as all sorts of stupid scams. It happens quite regularly.
They charge off all excited and blast every number they receive a call on without ever calling the number to verify.
