Slightly different amazon scam - 833-528-0900

Kind of different Amazon scam… robocall says that there was fraudulent activity on or seen on my Amazon account, so it has been lblocked - and you need to call the number to get it resolved. When I called, they said that there was multiple login attempts made to my account from Ohio, which caused them to block the account. I asked if they actually were able to log in, and he said they had not, just a lot of attempts to log in. I replied “Heck, then why did you block the account? Let 'em have at it - there isn’t any way they are going to be able to guess my password”. I don’t think that was what they were expecting, but continued on saying I would need to restore my account electronically and he needed my email. I disputed his ‘claim’ that I had to do it myself, told him to just unblock my account, and be done with it. Went down hill from there, ending in him giving me the verbal flip of a finger. Good times

According to some other accounts, the actions they take may be different... for example, one person reported that they needed to get a $1000 Amazon card (for some convoluted reason) and Amazon would refund them the amount when the account gets un-blocked.

I spoke with at least two different individuals and it didn't sound like it was very busy, so have fun! Icing on the cake is it's a toll free number as well!

Couldn’t get to far with him after telling him I had a 2FA set up, plus he sounded like he was in a wind tunnel. Started getting snippy with me so hit him with both barrels.

Active

Still active @ 4:55 EST. Get this… he wanted to install a “amazon secure server” on my computer so nobody could try logging into my account in the future. They get more stupid by each passing day!

Call flooding them now. They don’t sound happy. One of them is trying to argue with a Gordon Ramsey bot.

They do get pretty far fetched for sure. I really love how the SSA guys turned gift cards into a 'federally secure safety wallet' that you can buy at any 'certified government store' like Target or Walmart!! Cracks me up each and every time I hear it <grin>

Yes, that one too gets me losing control and blows my cover, smh.
