Six Montreal grandparent scammers PLEAD GUILTY

On October 16, 2025, six Montreal-based scammers pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy charges tied to grandparent scams that stole $1.5 million from 1,700 elderly Americans from 2019 to 2021. The scammers have been identified as:

  • David Anthony Di Rienzo
  • Tenaj Johnson
  • Carson Vaudry
  • Mason Periera-Walker
  • Paul Letourneau
  • Steven Petruzziello

As part of this plea agreement, the scammers are ordered to pay $90,000 in reimbursement to eight victims, the majority of which being owed by Di Rienzo since he served as the kingpin and has since been sentenced to two years detention (one of which under house arrest) followed by 3 years of probation and 200 hours community service.
