Should we scambait scientologist centers?

Scientology, as we all know is a religion based upon wild stuff and it costs lots of money just to be a part of it. The religion is created by a guy who lived on a boat with young boys and was busted by the feds numerous times. L. Ron Hubbard is a crazy guy. I have to live with the fact that my favorite actor, Tom Cruise, is a scientologist. Scientology is full of false facts and “promise” its believers that after they become part of the church, they will seek happiness at the cost of hundreds or thousands of dollars (forgive me if any of this info is wrong). That is a scam. And we target scammers. I want to know if we should start to scam bait scientologist centers.

Realistically, every religion is a scam, but there’s nothing you can do since they have so much power…

@thunder#65940 well most religions like Catholicism (mine) arent scams. but i dont want to get into religion.

People have tried to take legal action against the church of Scientology. What the church does is get as many members as they can to file individual lawsuits, tying up the courts. It’s like a Judicial DOS. Groups have been trying to crack them for a long time, without success.

I don’t know how much recruiting Scientology does. It is unclear how much of a scam is pushed on members involuntarily. You can always walk away, even if there are consequences. Ultimately, its operations are being exposed and they are fairly localized in FL & CA.

I have grown up knowing and working with Jehovah's Witnesses. As individuals they are like anyone else. The more I have read about the organisation, the more I have discovered how they essentially threaten and stifle personal freedoms. It's sickening and not innocent.

The PA Grand Jury report on the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal was actually a real eye opener to me. We all knew of isolated, localized, and predatory crimes of priests. Now there is documentation of knowledge and manipulation on a worldwide structure level. I can tell you as someone who grew up in this church, I was not exposed to or aware of any of these abuses within my parishes. The church is mostly, what it claims to be. Abuse, on an individual or structural scale is just that, abuse and crime of people... not reflective of the church as whole.

To me, I have turned a focus on multi-level marketing companies, including Amway. These companies prey on religious communities and use religion as a component of their marketing strategy. This is an abomination and afront to the Lord. The biggest concentration of these companies is found in Utah. Many folks on the east and west coasts have no idea what these companies are doing throughout the Midwest and South.

Leave religion alone. In America we are free to practice or not practice as we see fit. Educate yourself on denominations and the folks around you. Quora.com is a great resource. Focus on those who are scammers selling snake oil, false dreams, and profiting off the poorest. Look up Betsy DeVos, her family, and I challenge you not to puke.
