Shame on you, GoDaddy

While some other hosts and protection providers have been taking down scam websites at our request, it seems GoDaddy doesn’t seem bothered by scammers using their platform for scamming innocent people within the country as well as overseas. I’m fed up at their magnitude of callousness towards scammers abusing their domain. It also seems it’s the same issue with their legitimate customers whose bad reviews and defaming posts I have read in the past where GoDaddy seems to have overcharged the customers or even forcibly shutting down their websites. Any follow-ups to this post will be greatly appreciated.

Disclaimer: I am NOT posting this with a deliberate intent to defame/shame someone but just expressing my frustration and a hope this post will rankle them up a bit and make them be more responsible in the future.

For sure. Scammers are taking advantage of GoDaddy’s history in responding to reports, they know it’s their best bet to keep their site up.

Unless something changes, we’re probably gonna see a rise in scam related sites using GoDaddy.

Maybe sue them or get them triggered with something like a lawsuit? I’m sure they wouldn’t even feel tickled by this

could a mod please move this to wall of shame/name and shame category?

@Andromeda#172826 Thought about that before, we’re talking about taking on this massive company with a whole department of lawyers. Just seems like a waste of time.

@Eth0_Sec#172833 Waste of time yes but if it’ll bring results then I’m all for it.

@NearScamBaits1#172837 For sure

I wish GoDaddy could log IP addresses so they can track whether someone is playing fair or not.

We all hate scammers and give them a tough time. We have the right to do that. Since GoDaddy won’t do anything nor care about victims of scams, maybe we could find out the phone number provider and notify them. Not sure if that will be helpful though. It angers and upsets me so much the fact that scammers hurt vulnerable people. It’s very upsetting, but unfortunately that’s what they do.

Missed this post before. Didn’t know it was already spoken about before

@E_Pluribus_Unum#173003 I have emailed GoDaddy on everyone’s behalf this is what I put to their legal team

Dear Sir / Madam

I work for an anti scam agency, we have reported multiple sites owned by scammers who domains and hosting are owned by GoDaddy.

These sites are being used to scam people not just in the US & Canada but people around the world.

Myself and other anti scam agencies have reported multiple sites regarding such scam websites which can vary between Amazon Scams to Tech Support Scams.

We have had no response from your abuse department and neither has the abuse department taken down such sites.

I hope to hear from you soon

@ToxicJ#173176 GoDaddy doesn’t care. I wish they could track every use of the domain site. After many abuse reports they’ve shown us how shady they are about reporting scams. Logging IP addresses would most likely be the best option out there. Logging them could detect illegal activity and possibly notify the Internet Service Provider. Let’s hope GoDaddy does so too. If someone here works at GoDaddy, or at least is getting an interview through a video conference, please log every IP address to make sure no illegal activity has been attempted. Don’t post all IP addresses for security purposes and to be respectful of privacy. Only post IP Addresses that have been used for illegal activity. Also I didn’t include your username in the closing response (closing + signature). Let me know if you want me to put in a new screenshot if you’d like me to include your username at the end.

If you'd like me to update the screenshot please do so before contacting them. If you're ok with the initial photo, let me know and you're good to go. If you want me to add changes, it must be before the call.

Contact them over the phone tell them to type the link in the web address box of the browser.
The phone call will be recorded so let the agent on the other end that you are part of an anti-scam agency
Spell it out for them (don't tell them to type http:// but you can do so if you want)

Report the scam sites to Google, Microsoft etc. so that people get a browser warning when they go there.

@Foreign_Hacker#173205 Microsoft has a new feature on it’s edge browser where reporting a popup is just a click away, it made this specifically to stop scammers at the scambaiting community’s request. Google, which was ignoring reports all the while now have begun to act too

@Andromeda#172819 @Eth0_Sec#172824 @NearScamBaits1#172837 @ToxicJ#173176 @Foreign_Hacker#173205 and everyone else, here are the reviews. I’m not posting many reviews because it is time-consuming. These are samples and are on the first part of all the reviews. I got them all from TrustPilot.

I won't be showing the names/usernames of consumers who made reviews to be respectful of their privacy.

@E_Pluribus_Unum#173286 Interesting, never really looked into customer reports from GoDaddy and seen how bad it can be.

@E_Pluribus_Unum#173286 Just amazing how Trustpilot didn’t remove the bad reviews of GoDaddy, parhaps they themselves hate them for some reason shrugs

@ToxicJ#173176 Hey Doxxer! You have been reported! HA HA HA! Your going to jail, dumb ass!
