202-922-4895 – Say they are the Treasury Department and the Inspector General’s Office. Obviously does not know it is called the Office of the Inspector General. A really bad scammer and very rude. He said I had suspicions of tax fraud and that I had filled out my W-2 wrong. What an idiot.
I called them.
The Indian male scammer says “Department of Treasury, Inspector General’s office, how may I help you?”
I asked “are you the inspector general?”
He replied “Yes sir”
I asked “are you the janitor?”
'No sir I am officer Jack Austin!"
