So until recently I never had a single scam call to my work phone.Since the start of August scammers have started hitting Greece and Cyprus,here is the article of the Cyber Crime Department : Προσοχή με απάτη μέσω τηλεφωνικών κλήσεων - Πως αποκτούν πρόσβαση σε e-banking , unfortunatelly its in greek but chrome can translate sites.
I thought it was just a one time situation thing at first but they kept calling every day and right now they are calling every week.The mysterious part is that they are using numbers coming from Thesaloniki ( a greek city ). Almost all greek scams used Thesaloniki numbers but its the first time i see indian scammers use it.
I am not gonna lie I am pretty anxious.The scammers have expanded their business....
*What do I think*
I think they surely can not be in thesaloniki so they should be using an SIP. My theory is... if they can,we can do it too ,unfortunatelly I dont know anything regarding SIP and stuff so I may have to leave it up to you guys to explain it to me if we can do something like that.
*What type of scammers are they?*
They are the basic tech support scammers trying to convince you you have a virus in your computer so you can allow them temporally access to your computer so they can steal your personal information, bank accounts etc.
*How can we face them?*
I honestly do not know.I have been scambaiting for 2 years but never have received calls from Greece.Maybe if we get a Greek ISP and do what we do best, Scambait.
Until then I am trying to waste as more time as possible by messing with them telling them memes when they call me.Unfortunatelly it is a work phone and not a home phoneline so its pretty annoying thinking it is a customer but shows up it was a scammer...
PS : Calling them back sometimes fails
