I think it’s time we started blocking unrecognised IPs from India and other countries once again where scams are rampant as well as the VPNs. If any user wants to report a scam wherein he/she is from a country where the website is not available, we can ask them to send relevant content to the trusted/veteran/verified users at the start. The blocking should also be for inactive users from these countries who just look up the forum or have been inactive for a long time.
@Andromeda#172391 noooo they are so funny xD
Maybe there could be an india only section, where anyone from india and anyone from a vpn is forced to post, until they become verified. For instance, if I lived in india, and I wanted to post a scam, I would have to post it in that section, because the other ones are all locked. After a while, those users that post good info on scams and the liking can become verified and are allowed access to the whole scammer.info page. Of course, anyone not from india can post there as well, and just watch the scammers go to town with each other
I think you did not take into account the magnitude of the problem
I like dills theory …
@Andromeda#172391 What VPN service(s) do scammers mostly &/or commonly used?
@dillpickle778#172414 Yes good idea. Then we can also add scams which operate within India and let Indians prank call/flood them. There’s also a chance we might be able to link up internal scammers with international ones because i’ve come across one such instance before.
@E_Pluribus_Unum#172441 Can’t be sure, they may use anything from free/paid ones. They don’t have to bother about victim info getting leaked using free/unsafe vpns. But I used one browser while my ip remained blacklisted after the ddos to login to the website. Not gonna reveal it but will talk to the mods soon to block it.
@Andromeda#172418 I’m not sure if I have seen this problem yet. I saw only one scammer recently posting.
I just thought my idea could be potentially funny, seeing scammers mixing with eachother.
@NeeP#172489 What did the scammer say and what is his username?
@dillpickle778#172414 eyyy not bad idea
@E_Pluribus_Unum#172506 ravimann and chrome_cast
@NeeP#172489 scammers might just visit the website to check if their number is posted and take them down. This isn’t good to discourage them from scamming. They don’t have to smear themselves with shame by posting stupidly, do they?
It’s best to stop things from going out of hand much before it becomes a larger problem.
@Andromeda#172391 If they’re manipulating the downvote feature the privelige to do so should be terminated
@D3B4T3#172514 thanks!
Better if they are not even allowed access.
@Andromeda#172604 Your view is right but by insulating all Indians from this forum could mean like not create awareness among them on these scams and hence acquire their support. I found this community partly after I tried to look up funny scambait vids and also some awareness from my friends back in college who loved to call and prank scammers. But yes an Indian-only section which moderates what other users in India can see or post(except trusted/well-known users from India who verified supporters of the community) on those operating within India would be welcome. We now have Indians themselves prank calling these scammers and i’ve seen their response to their own countrymen willing to get rid of them.
@Andromeda#172604 yeah, but if we dont allow any indians, what if there is a genuine indian who could get us in touch with the cops, along with pics of the buildings their in. I haven’t seen one yet, but you knever know
