I found two numbers today. The first is 251-235-1426. This one answers right away and says “IRS, how may I help you”.
The second number is 347-349-9828. This is one that I am not sure of. The guy answers and says "hello". I said to him that I got a call from this number. He asked me on which phone number. I told him that I have a business with multiple numbers and it could have been on any of my 6 phone lines. He then hung up on me. So this one may or may not be an IRS scammer.
The second number definitely is an IRS scammer. I called a second time with a different number in my burner. He answered and said “Thank you for calling the IRS how may I help you”. I said “I got a call from this number and was wondering what it is all about?”. He went on with his script and told me that they sent to letters to me and a voice mails…". After that I slowly said “ok” and he hung up on me.
Using the second number, the scammer hangs up after 2 1/2 rings.
@alangreen#29681 Tried on Firertc and both my burner numbers. The first number said “Unreachable” and the second picked up and I could hear the call center but nobody spoke and when I said Hello, they hung up.
@JusticeinTexas#29687 Maybe try again later when they are not so suspicious. I called the first number and they answered my call. I played a few MLB and and fart sounds for him. He was amused for a few minutes, then hung up. The second time I called, I made scratching noises with the mic. He called me an A-Hole and then hung up.
The second number just goes to busy. Maybe it will work later on.
