I accidentally called a scammer using my real number. I know, dumb on my part. I use an app on my phone but somehow it called off my phone instead of the app. Anyways, he is calling me nonstop, first it showed up as Unknown, now it’s 833 335 1221. He won’t quit calling, it’s back to back. Guess he’s mad I wasted his time the other day.
@Shibear#70608 that happened to me once…they even used an india number trying to scare me LOL. They are testing you…
@Ownsscammers#70618 it’s so annoying! I hope they can’t do anything with my number. I’m debating on changing it lol.
@Shibear#70625 What was the number or numbers you called them on?
@Asterisk#70639 my cell phone number
Too bad the number he’s calling you back from just seems to be spoofed, could you give us the original number you dialed him at? I feel as though if people send enough calls back to him, he’ll eventually give up on calling you.
I actually love it when they call me back. I only protect one of my numbers (my cell) but I have all inbounds going through a PBX to be screened. Scammers call me back on one of the DIDs that I own and I know the call is crap (I change the caller ID to SCAMMER before I sent the call to my cell phone. Then I just fuck with them some more, transfer them to screaming monkeys, super loud Barry Manilow music, you have it. Or tell them their mother goes to bed with Pakistani men so you’re probably a Pakistani.
@Shibear#70640 Sorry, I meant, what numbers did you originally call?
@Asterisk#70646 the number in the original post and some other “tech support” numbers beginning in the same area code

Sorry bud. That happened to me with my old number. Never that bad though. For me, it was only a couple of calls a day. You could either let him get worn out and bored calling you. The other option is, changing numbers (that one I recommend).
If you have limited resources & changing numbers isn’t easy, chances are he’ll give up pretty quick… and it is very unlikely he can do anything other than annoy you a bit anyway. I’ve used a burner cell a lot that almost always has the ringer silenced, on rare occasions i’ll come back to see someone had called however many times, then gave up.
For any who don't know, calling any toll-free number from a real phone always gives them your number whether you *67 or not.
There is also this thing called "TrapCall," a paid (monthly?) service that I learned about because I called an abusive junk debt buyer/collector a couple times, just trying to figure out who they were. I called into a regular, long distance (not toll-free) number using *67 and they answered and rattled off my number to me. Seems only places/people that are out there giving others a good reason to harass them ever bother with paying for it... according to the TrapCall people, it exploits weaknesses in modern voicemail systems... even though you are calling anonymously, it can ping your voicemail system and instantly get your number that way. So they both know you had tried to block the call, and know who was calling.
