I am not sure who he is yet, and hopefully the mods do and are working on it, but we likely have a scammer among us, I would even go as far as to say he IS a mod or has power to have mods do his bidding since my post on the scam was removed upon his request. He told my client to remove the post in 5 minutes or else, and it was in fact removed in 5 minutes. The issue is that I was posting a lot of info on here, which I will be dialing down on that A LOT (if posting here at all anymore) since an important lesson was learned, but once the scammer found out, things went down hill from there in a big way.
In the end, the scammer found my posts, somehow thought that my client was me (whom I was try to protect) then went after my client who is an older gentleman, not very tech literate, put him into the middle of this mess, and started harassing him and threatening him. The ironic thing about all of this is that the scammer (who's initial call to my client was wanting to check his website files for malware, viruses, and hackers.) HE called my client out of the blue like any other scammer does and lo and behold he turns out to somehow be very involved in this forum.
It may not be of any use but he emails from [email protected]. I was informed that it's a real business (at the most only on the surface), but yet EVERYTHING I have researched and dug up points to it being a scam. ie, his email header coming back as being from Bhubaneswar India, the fact that he cold called my client wanting to perform an illegitimate service on my clients website (which was fake because my client could at least smell a potential scam), but my client shouldn't have given him an address if this scammer knew that my clients site was infected. Also, this scammer went about his business and even mentioned that "its about 5 years old now. Did hackers expire it". The freaking site protec1337.com ---:D--- doesn't exist and never did. I put this out as a warning as some of you may face similar situations. I have all of the proof to back up this dude being a scammer. So from one to another. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
