New to this site. Last week I had my ex husband and my husband both called to get in touch with me over a “complaint” before further action is taken. They were given a phone number and reference number to pass onto me. I called the number.

I called at 5:44 pm on 2/7/19. She asked for my birthdate to verify, which I gave to her. She gave me the last 4 numbers of my social. They claimed to have sent out written documentation which I never recieved. She told me I probably threw it away because I didn't recognize them. She then told me I had a line of credit from Chase bank from "probably the early 2000's" which continues to gain interest and I owe something over $2k, but they can knock it down to $1k if I pay right away. I informed her I didn't recognize the debt, and, in fact, know I do not have any such debt, which she continuously claimed they verified. She popped off a few old addresses and my middle initial to prove they had all the proof they needed that it was my debt, all of which are public record. She started to make threats that my bank account would be garnished and my pay up to $25% if I did not make a payment. I refused to pay a debt I did not recognize, and told her I needed to verify it, and asked her to resend documentation by mail so I had it in writing, which she refused to do. She continued to argue that it didnt matter, I was on the hook for the debt no matter what, and needed to settle it right then and there, and continued to make threats. I refused and hung up. I received another call back the following day from a new number....

I received the call back at 10:33 am on 2/7/19. The person calling this time claimed to be someone else, but had the exact same voice, with the exact same lines. We went in the exact same circle, where I refused to pay a debt I did not recognize and had to verify first. I also informed her that IF the debt was mine, it was likely past statue of limitations. She claimed Statute didn't matter as they already had a judgement against me. I asked her for the court case file number and the signing judge as I was not properly informed I was being sued. She told me that court is for criminal cases, and this is not a criminal case, and not to trust any info on google. I told her not to call me again, and I hung up again and didn't hear anything until today....

I got a call at 12:26 pm today, 2/12/19. I was informed there was a complaint against me, and I had one hour to call back the number they gave me with the reference number or further action would be taken and public notice would be put out. She began giving me the second number (the one that called me), but then corrected herself and gave me the first number, which I called the week before, along with a completely different reference number. I did not call it this time. I expect my family members on public record will soon be notified as well at this new attempt.
