Got an email from them; bunch of scammers

@effable#147570 I called and they answered Student Loan Forgiveness and asked if I had a loan I needed gone. I said yes and they asked me all kinds of personal info. No way are they legit. And the worst part is that they sound American.

@JusticeinTexas#147582 I dunno… I played 'em for a while and they sounded fairly legit… I wouldn’t give my SSN so she said that because my phone # did not come up (and I had no e-mail), that I would need to call another number to link my loan to the new phone number. Nothing up to that point was anything confidential or suspicious, just stuff like amount owed, how much per month, any other loans, any dependents, etc… typical loan stuff. Sounds more like a typical bottom feeder loan forwarder… sleazy but not really a scam. Of course, I could be wrong, and usually am

@Otis#147597 NO NO NO!! I did some digging and they are not legit. Numerous complaints about taking money for payments and not applying them to any student loans. They call themselves SLFinance, Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, Consumer Advocacy Center, Premier Student Loan Center and more and they are horrible people because they are Americans. I had several convos with them and when I asked for a website they hung up. One swore at me. Does that sound legit??

Here is just one of the complaints
This company goes under several different names such as Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, et al. v. Consumer Advocacy Center Inc., d/b/a Premier Student Loan Center, et al., primary account solutions along with other names. When I call the several different numbers I am directed to *****************************. I am not able to speak to anyone. I have contacted the consumer financial protection bureau and there has been no resolution. I paid this company $249 for five months and one month of $42. I desire to get all of my money back from this company. I thought I was paying a student loan forgiveness program. I have plenty of documents that support my complaint.

AND THIS IS JUST ONE!!

Back in the 80’s or early 90’s, a co-worker’s brother worked for a guy who owned several US based call centers who were in the business of collecting bad student loan debts. He had an alias, and that’s how he was know in their office. Why? Because they were crossing the line and literally breaking the law when they aggressively pursued student loan customers. He received a nice commission on what he collected. And he bragged that he was good at it, even gave us a “demo” (after several drinks) of the foul language and threats he employed. But he said it ate on your soul, or something to that effect.

So, I would categorize these type of businesses as legal on the surface but scams when you scratch a little deeper. Just like those male enhancement companies with Philippine call centers.

The same number has come up on scammer.info before, previously as a debt repayment scam.

This is the same number as this scam below, this time a debt repayment scam.

I'm not sure a legit company would be using an email address like [email protected]
