Samya Kelly ARRESTED for being money mule for Georgia State Prison Gang

On May 7, 2026, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, arrested 20-year-old Samya Sharnae Kelly for serving as a money mule for a prisoner-led “jury duty” scam operation, where

  • Georgia state prison inmates will call their victims under the false personation of law enforcement officers.
    • The phones used are considered contraband.
  • In order to avoid being “arrested” for supposedly missing jury duty, the victims were asked to pay $750 through PayPal or Apple Pay

Kelly has since been charged with obtaining money via false pretenses and two counts of money laundering.
