DISCLAIMER: No screenshot will be provided, as my number was spoofed.

Popup is a “free Apple Watch” scam done under the guise of Verizon Wireless. I am not currently under a Verizon plan, though my mobile provider does use the Verizon towers.

This is all part of the rise of “Smishing,” phishing done via SMS in order to steal your personal information. Others have reportedly been redirected to Channel One Russia, a Russian state television network.

This happened to me a few days ago. (I have Verizon) I tried texting “STOP” lol. I did not click on the link though and deleted the text soon after. If it happens again I will post it here.

Forward text message to 7726 to report it as spam, found this info here

This is wild, I got one of these myself. If anyone wants to play around with the URL, here you are:

uftzl9.com/jsHIR25a5v

Behind Cloudflare so don’t bother reporting abuse. After bouncing around 3 redirects, it sends you to:

www.1tv.ru

Hosted in Russia, so again don’t bother reporting abuse.

Cloudflare forwards to the hosting provider. If it’s a phishing site and the hosting provider does nothing, I’ve seen them put this up:

This is often the best scenario and it doesn’t happen often. Cloudflare keeps EVERYTHING online, and I truly mean every terrible thing you can imagine. Child porn, terrorist websites, shooter manifestos, all of it is kept online, in the name of free speech.

That’s fair, but I believe reports are generally forwarded to the hosting provider, but I do understand your opinion.
