Robot Responds

Howdy, just wanted to share this strange behavior on this batch of numbers. I’ve been going over my list of scam numbers to see if any are still active. This particular list was mostly Insurance Supermarket (ISI) numbers though some were also Pick-A-Scam / $100 rebate numbers. Today, they ring briefly and a robot answers with one of the following:

Hello

Who’s speaking please?

Good morning

Good evening (even if it’s morning)

Good afternoon

Hello, may I ask who’s calling?

Greetings who is this?

Hi, who’s this?

Who’s speaking please?

How can I help you?

And my all time favorite, “Yo!” You haven’t lived until you’ve had a robot answer your call with “yo!” Pity they didn’t append “wassup”

At first I thought this was some form of call screening like the kind Pixel phones have, but the robot only says that one phrase and then afterwards is silence, no matter what you say. My best guess is these numbers are just parked waiting to be sold to another scam outfit, but who knows.

There are a lot of interesting things out there on random numbers.
I have a few hundred numbers with strange and bizarre nonsense on them

This is the same sort of thing as the numbers listed above and is also on thousands of numbers and they’re all toll free

There are two numbers in different area codes with this on it

This is a bit different
I was just thinking this…(this goes on endlessly)

This is on ten toll free numbers within 238 digits, first to last

Oh yeah, you don’t get much more meaningful than this…very important stuff

This is much like the last thing, I’m sure this means something to someone

This mindless 80’s crap full song from this overrated no talent is on several toll and toll free numbers, this is the toll free number version.

This is on about a dozen numbers in multiple area codes

There are hundreds with random prank stuff such as this

This is what happens when the call cannot be completed announcer is overdosing on crystal meth

Call this toll free number if you need to reset your voicemail password
Very helpful indeed

This toll free number has many different messages, a different one every time you call …all invaluable knowledge

This toll free number plays random Jackson 5 songs from the 70’s or Michael Jackson 80’s/90’s every time.

The bat cave one is absolutely hilarious. All of these are gold actually, especially the Indians meekly recording messages. I likewise have a few that just play Upside Down by Jack Johnson while it “tries to connect you.” I just wonder who’s paying for all this? Wouldn’t it be expensive to park a bunch of numbers with random messages like this? NumberBarn parking is $2/month for example.
