Additional information about this scam: They pose as a well-known IT agency like RuderFinn Agency, which can be found with a simple Google search, and offer you a simple job like posting reviews on hotels. The whole scam runs via a Telegram group.
They will contact you for a freelance remote job and ask if you want to join as a full-time or part-time worker. When asked about the role, they will tell you that they work with Google Maps and brands to increase their visibility, claiming to have partnerships with hotels.
Then they send you a first test assignment for 600 PKR (around $2.2). The job is really simple: post a 5-star rating review for a hotel and send them a screenshot, after which they promptly send the payment. They continue to send money for these tasks, gradually gaining your trust. Eventually, they lure you into “Merchant tasks,” which they call “investors,” and offer to double your money. This is where they trap you.
The scam is probably not new, but many people in Pakistan are falling for it.
