Community Call to Action: Help Report Suspected Printer Support Scam Websites
Why I’m Writing This
A few months ago, my grandmother fell victim to a printer support scam.
What started as a simple printer issue turned into a costly lesson about how convincing online support scams can be. Since then, I’ve spent time researching websites that appear to offer printer support services and reporting those that raise serious concerns.
I am sharing the following websites because I have personally submitted reports regarding them and believe they warrant further scrutiny by security researchers, browser vendors, hosting providers, domain registrars, and members of the cybersecurity community.
Websites I Have Reported
What You Can Do
If you are a cybersecurity professional, threat researcher, journalist, domain abuse investigator, or simply a concerned internet user, I encourage you to:
-
Review these websites independently.
-
Check for deceptive marketing practices.
-
Investigate whether they impersonate legitimate brands.
-
Examine domain ownership and hosting infrastructure.
-
Submit abuse reports where appropriate.
-
Share findings with the broader security community.
Important Reminder
Please do not harass website operators, engage in vigilante activity, or attempt unauthorized access to any systems.
The goal is responsible reporting through legitimate channels such as:
-
Domain registrars
-
Hosting providers
-
Search engines
-
Browser safe-browsing programs
-
Consumer protection agencies
-
Anti-phishing organizations
A Request to the Community
The internet is safer when people work together.
If you’ve encountered similar websites, reported suspicious support services, or have information that may help investigators, please share your experiences in the comments.
Every report, investigation, and awareness effort helps reduce the number of people who become victims of online support scams.
Let’s continue documenting, reporting, and educating so fewer families experience what mine did.
Stay vigilant, verify before you trust, and always contact technology companies through their official websites.
