Scam Number: (866) 839-6424
Additional information about this scam:
- Comes up in a paid ad for Google search on phone’s web browser when searching for rental car
- I clicked on phone number to call not knowing it was an ad, thinking it was Hertz
- They answered the phone strange, I know how Americans answer biz calls, this wasn’t it
- Eventually before any car was offered, they wanted to make sure I had a pre-filled American Express card, and WOULD NOT take Visa or MC.
- I told them Visa was the only way so I can be protected from fraud, and since he wouldn’t use it I said “This conversation is over!”
- I made it to Hertz desk and reported this, and they took my Visa, ALL rental co. take Visa
- When I arrived home I immediately made my scammer.info acct. to report
BEWARE!!!
