Refund scambaiting advice:
My advice for those new at this is the following: 1. Don’t use your real number (Google Voice and Textnow are both free “new” numbers you can use). 2. Use a virtual machine with Windows 7 or higher. They will try to install multiple remote softwares, many of which don’t work with Vista or below. 3. Try to act as slow as possible. Refund scammers don’t do much on your computer–they usually start opening up chrome and ask you to log in to your account right away, so you want to keep them away from this as long as possible if you want to waste their time. 4. When calling, just say “I got a voicemail” as your first line, without mentioning any refund. This makes it less likely for them to hang up on you. 5 (ONLY for experienced level 4 or 5 scambaiters): If they install anydesk, copy their iD quickly to try to reverse the connection. It’s their loss for clicking on “accept” anyway.
