Random Text to attract victims. Same ploy they use "I'm back in town"

Sometimes I feel this is just a “ploy” to confirm the number is still simply ‘active/in use’. So then, even if they don’t achieve their main goal in regards to the scam, they can still SELL your number elsewhere because the phone number holder is still responsive and then someone else can try hit your number. The cycle repeats, but as they always say, try to just not pickup unknown callers/reply to unknown texts etc.

I feel like with these types of text scams, they just try to get a photo of you they can use elsewhere (identity fraud) etc. I don’t think it’s a massive as what it could be truly. Just a small “warm-up” basic scam.

The Snapchat is likely indicative of something more sinister.
