Why do scammers make your background black when they connect? It doesn’t really make sense to me
@ScammerDestroyer666#191419 Mainly to hide their activity. They check whether you’re running a VM, snoop around for files with personal information, and when your bank page is open, they edit the HTML to deceive you into thinking the transfer occurred.
@Mrbossosity#191425 all by making your desktop background black? how?
@ScammerDestroyer666#191978 They see your screen but you do not see it. They may transfer money from the bank account, change the password etc …
Blanking is a feature provided by several remote software vendors. I hate this feature
@ScammerDestroyer666#191978 The desktop background turning black is actually a feature of most remote connection software, it reduces the overall network usage by limiting the number of assets that need to be transferred to the host, thus decreasing latency.
What @Mrbossosity#191425 is referring to is the "Blank Screen" feature which blocks your screen from outputting video, and also blocks your input. This is often used to edit HTML on pages whilst you can't see what's happening.
Just to add on to @Lecter#192006, Teamviewer sets your background to black by default when anyone connects to your pc although there is a setting where you can turn that off. Lecter is correct, this is to reduce the network bandwidth and making the overall experience better.
