Hey guys,
I really want to waste more tech scammers time so I’ve been thinking about setting up a VM. This may be a dumb question but is there any way possible for the scammers to get into my real computer despite me only giving them access to the VM? If so is there a way I can 100% prevent that? I want to play it safe as possible and still have lots of research to do before I start doing this. Any input is greatly appreciated! ![]()
you should be 100% safe using a VM. It might seem a little bit strange at first, but they can do no harm to your real computer so you’ll stop feeling anxious after a call or two.
although make sure you are using a VPN ! without a VPN they could potentially gain access to your IP address. I recommend BetterNet as a good and free VPN.
so yeah, just make sure you're using a VPN and you'll be completely safe.
I also recommend VPN. Also do not have any identifying info in your VM like User name, city name any personal docs or images (which may reveal location)
@drwat#122315 Thanks! Good advice! For now I use Proton VPN which I read and heard good things about so I’m hoping that would be sufficient. Do you have any personal recommendations for which VM I should use?
i use to use virtual box before but i like using better now VMware Workstation Pro it just depends on the person witch one you like to use but i do recommend VMware Workstation Pro
@MuffinTop#122318 I use proton VPN but I suggest keeping making accounts so you get a free trial. I use Vmware workstation I would recommend it. Download an ISO file of windows so scammers can connect to. If you need any help contact my discord:Micheal_mickster#3746
@MuffinTop#122318 First choice: VMware Workstation Pro, second choice VirtualBox
Thank you all for your input! I so greatly appreciate it! I really want to up my game with these scammers. I’ve watched a lot of ScammerRevolts videos where he gets into their computer and deletes their files. I would also love to learn more about collecting information from them (like their locations and other valuable information) to report to moderators on here. I feel like I am a long ways off from doing that but I would love to learn! Do you guys have any experience with that kind of thing?
Don’t forget to change the name of the vm tools… Also take a snapshot when it’s all setup… Happy hunting ( :
