Anybody know a Q-Link Wireless?
A few weeks back, I got called from them up to 6 times before I blocked them on my phone and have been doing a few bits and pieces of research on to who these guys might be.
According to Wikipedia, they’re based in Dania, Florida and have been in business since 2011. Q Link also provides free services to eligible consumers for the FCC’s Lifeline program which are intended to make communications more affordable to low-income customers.
Evidentially, Q Link also offers prepaid mobile phone services under the brand, Hello Mobile: South Florida-Based Hello Mobile Beats Nationwide Prepaid Prices | Markets Insider
Q Link is owned by Quadrant Holdings under it’s founder and only CEO, Issa Assad: News & Events | Quadrant Holdings LLC & Issa Asad
Now here’s where Q Link’s legal history gets dicey. Because in 2014, Issa Asad was arrested for running over a groundskeeper over a $65 dispute: Fatal Dania Beach standoff sparked by dispute over $65, police say – Sun Sentinel
But our friend Issa here pled to to no contest and was sentenced to 1 year of probation. Oh, and in 2021, Q Link was raided by the US Postal Inspection Service for an investigation that’s been ongoing since 2019. No reason was disclosed: Dania Beach Wireless Business Raided By Feds - CBS Miami
But even farther back, Asad pled guilty in 1995 for aggravated battery towards a cop and was sentenced to three months probation: Update: Reduced Charge, Probation For Man Charged In Fatal Dania Beach Standoff - CBS Miami
I’m not saying that Q Link is full of scammers, which is why I present this quandary to y’all as to the suspicious nature of why they dialed me 6 times in one day.
When I looked up Q Link in Google Maps, I couldn’t find their offices in Dania Beach, but in Puerto Rico.
