On October 1, 2025, polie in Pune, Maharashtra, India raided an illegal call center operating out of three floors of the Marvel Fuego building at Magarpatta Rd, opp. SEASONS MALL, Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, Pune, Maharashtra 411036, India. The call center was used to facilitate common Microsoft technical support scams against American nationals, complete with:
- Fake virus popups
- Extortion of cryptocurrency to pay for fake “antivirus apps”
- Threats of data theft from bank accounts and credit cards.
32 bhenchods were arrested, including:
- Nirmal Ajay Shah, the 38-year-old owner from the Kumar Picasso Society in Hadapsar
- Atul Praveen Shrimali, a 30-year-old resident of Laburnum Park Society, Magarpatta
- Yugandhar Sanjay Hadge, a 34-year-old resident of the Shivkrishna Housing Soiety in Manjari Budruk.
Police have also seized money, 29 laptops, 20 computers, 41 cell phones, 7 routers and other equipment during the raid.
