On January 21, 2025, the Matigara Police in Siliguri, India raided an illegal call center operating out of the Webel IT Park in Phase 3 for facilitating a myriad of scams, including ones promoting fraudulent loans or health insurance plans. Three employees of the call center, which was registered as a travel company under the name of “Pride Solutions,” were arrested:
- Kolkata resident Randhir Singh
- Jharkhand resident Bablu Modi
- Islamapur resident Rana Pratap Barman.
Police have also seized several computers and telephones during the raid.
