Is this a legitimate business or a scam?

The Medical Alert system lines are indeed not considered as scams, and are real businesses; however, a lot of them are actually violating US federal laws to the point where they’ve caught the attention of the Federal Trade Comission.

While using a robot at the beginning of a call, it is supposed to identify the business name, as well as inform you that the call is being recorded.

Furthermore, if you do actually have a conversation with some of these folks like I have, they inform you about this supposed free medical alert system; however, they sneak in the part where you have to pay up to $500/year as a service charge, much later and probably after you agree to their service.

Over 20 of these companies between Canada and the United States have been fined last year for such violations. All the evidence, readings, and e everything you need to know is literally on the FTC's website.

Hope this helps.

@ZenCarter#70322 have you got any more numbers like this

@Darkscammer#70505 Since they are a legitimate business (with deceptive tactics which are considered illegal in the US), I would feel uncomfortable posting such numbers here or even privately to anyone.

Liability laws are really strict between the Canadian and the American relationship.

Sorry.

@ZenCarter#70708 But thare are still technely scammers
