Additional information about this scam: I don’t exactly remember the details, but from what I can tell, when you first answer the call, there’s a significant possibly ten-second delay before the agent would actually respond, and when they did the person on the other line introduced himself with a thick South Asian accent. It seems as though they’re actually from India but are somehow leasing mobile phone lines from a service in the Philippines hence why they are able to prey on unsuspecting Filipinos.
