Possible fraud

Before I name and shame on here, I just want some advice. So basically I am on a group on Facebook and the admin in the group said 7 people have had their accounts banned on an external website outside of Facebook for sharing their login details, all dubbed has piracy/theft, despite the fact their is free stuff on the website. The 7 people have lost £30 each, totaling £210 and the majority of people who criticism the group/website etc. Normally get banned.

Hope you can advise me if this belongs in these forums or not, Thanks.

I didn’t really understand the situation lol. I mean if those 7 people lost money without receiving anything, I guess they got scammed, yeah. You can post it here although I’m not sure if anyone can help or research it. But anyway, posting about scams here and naming the group or the site which does the scams might help others who will find your post here and then think again about conducting business with that site.

I would say its it edging towards fraud/scam. I will try to make it simpler.

The 7 people got banned for sharing their personal password/email, however they are now not allowed a refund.

The whole reason behind these bans is that sharing their personal password and email according to the group is classed as "piracy"

@lma07#172119 I can understand that it’s considered piracy for the sake of preventing sharing accounts. Same as Netflix which wants (or already did) fight account sharing. They want everyone to create an account rather than sharing accounts with many people which gives them less revenue. Sharing email/password to share the same account prevents them from having more sales. So they are right about piracy. Nothing wrong with that. So they are allowed to ban your account, especially if you violate their code of conduct or Terms of Service. That’s totally legal.

I still don't understand what this is about: is it free stuff or paid stuff? I think the right to a refund isn't being touched by the account ban, if the legal conditions for a refund are being met. Refunds are legally possible up to 14 days after the purchase and not all products are eligible. Some items are non-refundable, like watching a movie online.

@NeeP#172155 the majority is content is freeware. In the terms and conditions, all it mentions is you are responsible for your personal login details.

They poorly write stuff when it comes to the group,so they might be pointing at “no refunds after 14 days”. I’ll double check their terms and conditions about the sharing passwords.
