SIU warns of phone scam using its toll-free witness line number | CTV News The scams goal is to get into the news to raise awareness of incompetence in business or institutions. Or scams and corruption in fake news. Scammers typically arnt enforced or pursued as its just typical publicity scams due to scams being so everyday it doesnt matter.

@Dzeddy#99985 If NEACOP is a real group associated with this contact info, they will answer questions about their background and cause. It is possible for scammers to impersonate real charities. So if it is legit, let them know that their charity is being impersonated by scammers.

The person answering claimed to be working the phones for the “weekend answering services” (you know, everyone works at 2:41am doing charity work for a fake company) and once again, they seemed to get really excited when I asked them where I can donate money, but shockingly enough couldn’t tell me a whole lot about his organization or what places he actually donates the money to.
