Playing it safe

Hello, I’ve been thinking about setting up a virtual computer for further scambaiting, because i always get stuck at somewhere around the 5 minute mark, when they want to connect to my computer.

Obviously I want to do it as safe as possible, without paying much, possibly freely.

Do I only need a VPN to keep me safe, or do i need any extra safety measures? I’ve downloaded the free version of WindScribe VPN, with 10GB of data/month. Is it okay for me to start letting others into my vm?

Hello and welcome to Scammer.info.

Let me begin with by saying what you are doing is excellent and welcome to the scambaiting family.

First off, you will need the following tools for scambaiting.
- Oracle VM Virtualbox (download here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads)
- Windows Install Medium (Disk Image, .iso)
- Knowledge on how to edit a xml file (because we will need this to hide the fact that it is a VM)

You then need to use a VoIP service to hide your caller ID, some awesome people here on scammer.info have made a VoIP service that can hide your caller ID.
BobRTC is the name, and you can sign up with Discord. (https://bobrtc.live/)

There's a guide by Jim Browning on YouTube that shows how to hide your VM's information. You may also need to edit some stuff in your VM's XML file.

@Tails#98824 Thanks for your guide. The next thing I want to know is how to stay safe in while the scammers are connected to my vm. Is a free Windscribe vpn enough for this?

@LezuHansz#98840 Any VPN is good.

Just as long as it doesn’t harvest data and has a Killswitch, you’re good to go.
