Not sure where the popup was found, but it is possible to input anything and have it display where the number is shown by editing the url after phone=

I’m 90% sure I just recruited an insider from this call centre 
I enjoyed this one a lot. Kept the guy going for lots of time as he tried numerous tactics to get rid of the Windows Defender fake warning. Couldn’t get Quick Assist to run so finally settled on Alepmix. It took him quite a while to get around to ask for access to the credit card numbers etc. By that time I was getting a little bored so it was time to pull the "I-need-to-run-to-the-bank line, and that always ends things.

Every popup where you can put a /?phone= parameter you can put custom text.
Yep, they do that so they can use multiple numbers from one main url with the help of a gtag account that lets them manage a bunch of web ads without needing to create each page manually.
I mentioned it so some people who might not be aware they can use it for a scambait if they wanted, at least while it was still active.
