Greetings! I am a fan of Jim Browning and I found this website through him. I thought I would just read the posts here, never knew that a day would come where I would post something. Covid has apparently brought in more scammers. Last night one of my friends was looking to adopt a dog. She found a site which she says she couldn’t recall but she has the number. So, my friend texted the number via whatsapp. The scammer lady said, she was from Kerala and she was going to be relocated to America and that it is very costly to take her pup with her. The pup was 9 weeks old she claimed the scammer, it was already vaccinated and called her Mickey. The scammer lady also said that she is not willing to sell it because it is not acceptable in her religion. She also said that all we had to do is pay the cash on delivery, but the following day she said she had a problem with her bank and wants us to pay in advance. She said that during covid there is no COD available. That is when we understood that this was a scam and cut her off. My friend who wanted to adopt a dog was devastated, she was so excited about the dog scammer sent cute pictures of the dog to lure my friend. My friend trusted the scammer so much that she even sent her own address to her and she is now terrified! What will happen to the information sent?

Pet adoption scams gave been around for a while, and they appeared in news as well before. The address is likely fake, who in their conscious mind would give their full address?? It’s probably a victim’s who was hit with a different scam or they just sniped it off from somewhere else. Why? anyone can give you a fake address of a different person! It’s best if you report this to the responsible authority in your country about this.
Hi, I was also looking for a dog adoption and on searching I left my number on few adoption sites. I received same message about the 9 month old golden retriever named Mickey and that the owner is in kerala relocating to US. Exact the same details were shared and was asked to transfer 1600 Rs for logistics to send the dog from kerala to Bangalore. I wished to speak to her but she said is busy and can only message. She convinced me about the dog and I was just about to pay the amount but came across this post and was saved by this scam. Thank you
