HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- In order to “cancel,” I was asked to “connect to the security server” by “opening the Google Chrome” and downloading UltraViewer (ID: 79444003/DESKTOP-TOBK6S0)
- Once “John” remotely connected to my virtual machine, I was asked to complete a “secure refund form,” where they falsely claim to be “accredited by the Better Business Bureau,” and log into my nonexistent bank account.
- As I don’t do online banking, they then hung up on me and proceeded to “work” on my virtual machine by opening the Camera app and changing my login password.
