RingCentral, “this side Rex” (not to be confused with our @Rex) answers as “PayPal Customer Suppoat” and wanted my email address before falsely claiming the purchase was made by “John Crow from Mountain View, California,” who supposedly stole my identity through my IP address.
- In order to cancel, you are asked to “open the Google Chrome” and download ConnectWise from mvdr.site (Code: 37VR54Z/19XF12R/44QO59C, IP: 172.67.178.238
). I faked the download not working, prompting “Rex” to have me install SupRemo (ID: 381931128/ServiceTEAM)
- Once remotely connected, “Rex” proceeded to “connect me by the secure server” by forcing ConnectWise to be downloaded from mvdr.site so he can blank my screen with a fake software update and claim that he deals with all kinds of hackers from California and Nigeria.
- I was then asked to log into my nonexistent bank account. But since I don’t do online banking, he terminated the entire connection.
