Hello, so I’m currently fighting a scam on Paypal. As it turns out Paypal thought it would be a good idea to make a system that makes it very easy to scam people.
The scam goes as follows, the scammer files a complaint saying they bought something from you and they didn't receive the item. Now you'd imagine Paypal would ask for evidence but as it turns out you can file the complaint without evidence. When a complaint is filed about you, Paypal will send you an email to inform you about it and if you don't answer within about 2 weeks... the people that filled the complaint get the money!
So all the scammers have to do is file the complaint and spam your email folder so that you can't see the Paypal email. This is made even easier by Paypal showing your email to everyone. There's no need for phone calls with the scammers, no suspiscious websites, just Paypal's terrible system and a program to sign you up to hundreds of websites that will send you endless emails, preventing you from ever noticing a complaint was filled against you.
Also because of COVID Paypal's response time is delayed and you will first get an automated message to wich you have to reply to again before you can get an actual human to help you. (I'm still waitting on the human)
