Additional information about this scam: I did not receive the invoice but a poster states “a paypal phishing email claims this number is paypal support” on directory website.

The gandhu said it was for a laptop with a total of 390 dollars. I gave invoice ID 0851086.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:

  • The scammer, “Alex,” claimed I was billed for a Lenovo ThinkPad Chromebook, prompting me to “cancel” the “fraudulent charge” by “opening the Google Chrome” and go to rncare.live (IP: 193.233.203.148 :moldova:, Code: 09876), an iFrame of dita1.top (IP: 193.233.203.66 :moldova:).
  • Once “Alex” remotely connected to my virtual machine, he had me open a new tab and log into my nonexistent PayPal account. Since I didn’t have one, I was asked to log into my nonexistent online bank account…
  • Since “Alex” was adamant to get me to log into my nonexistent bank account, I played him the bhenchod song.
