The scammer will ask for your name and ZIP code before claiming the purchase was an “emergency” from New York, New Jersey, Ohio and Texas, with multiple bank accounts being registered under your name.
My call was then transferred to “my bank’s fraud department” and I was then asked to provide my birthday and THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, claiming that there was 3 additional purchases on my account: $1,450 in Texas, $990 in Ohio and $1,010 in New York.
The femchode disconnected as my case was being transferred to the “FTC Department,” and I never received a call back.
