A psychotic sounding woman alternates between shouting “paypal! my name is paypal!” and synthetic hold music.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammer, “Alex Jackson” answered as “PayPal” and asked for my name and if I live in California before claiming my “PayPal account” was created by hackers from Syracuse, New York, Houston, Texas, Richmond, Rhode Island and mispronounced cities in Indiana, Michigan and Louisiana.
- As this is a “serious case of hacking activity,” “Alex” asked for my ZIP code and a photo of my driver’s license to his Google Voice line, (202) 455-0552. I responded by sending a Grabify link that was accessed through a VPN. Grabify believes the scammer accessed the link from Tehran, Iran.
