Once remotely connected to my virtual machine with QuickAssist, the incredibly-invasive “Eric” asked me to download ConnectWise from qmthelp.top before failing to blank my screen with a fake software update and asking me to download AweSun.
- “Eric” then blanked my screen and asked me to open my webcam before having me fill out a “PayPal cancellation and refund form,” which they falsely claim was “Registered with BBB,” and to log into my nonexistent bank account.
- However, since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to walk to my bank and withdraw all the cash from my account. During this time, “Eric” blanked my screen once more and asked me to contact him from his Google Voice line as I was “walking to my bank”
- When I “reached” my fake bank and withdrew the cash, I was asked to purchase gift cards and take a photo of the money, which I saw as an opportunity to send them a Grabify link.
- “Eric” then responded by calling me a “n*gger” and asking me how to wire money.
(828) 352-8643 is going to VM for me, I didn’t leave a message.
