HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammer, “Alex Smith (ID: 612078912175)” will claim a fraudulent purchase was made, prompting you to “cancel” by “opening the Google Chrome” and go to tf.s24.help (Code: 61273).
- “Alex” had me hang up the call, as I would be receiving a call from “Jack” on his personal Magic Jack line, (602) 507-7002. “Jack” gave me a new code (75059), which didn’t work, so I was then asked to go to sm.s24.help to no avail.
- As a last resort, “Jack” had me download AnyDesk (ID: 929256232/“Cancellation Department” ID2: 1195900059/“HP” Password: paypal123) to fill out his “cancellation form,” which they falsely claim is “affiliated with the BBB.”
- Once I completed their “refund form,” I was asked to log into my nonexistent online bank account. They were insistent that I sign in, so I played them the bhenchod song.
