As he remotely connected to my virtual machine, the incredibly-deaf “Ben” asked me to log into my email account, so I intercepted by claiming it was an iCloud email that I can only access on my phone.
- I was then asked to call their “refund department manager, Kevin Hart,” at his personal TextNow line (213) 536-6597 before he attempted to install ConnectWise from hthelp.top before failing to have me log into my nonexistent bank account. (Refund ID: 971610845368)
- Since I don’t do online banking, I was asked to fill out a freshly-generated “refund form,” which falsely claimed I was getting a refund of $5,000. He then threatened me with legal action for “stealing their money,” only to swiftly hang up when I asked if it was in Indian rupees.
