Extra Info: Man tried listing a RTX 3090 for $400. I, pretty suspect it was a scam, sent in an offer. The convo seemed normal at first, but he asked for address and phone number. I decided to follow through with it mainly because Im new to offerup and didn’t see (with a quick look) that offerup had my address saved, so I thought it was a valid question.
Moving to the text convo, the guy told me payment through offerup was giving him an error, and that he couldn’t accept the offer there. I told him I wasn’t paying through any external services since my money wouldn’t be insured. He then told me he went to FedEx and got a receipt for the package but didn’t ship the package(???). He then said he didn’t ship it yet but then later said when he receives payment he will send me the tracking number. Funnily enough, there was a customs charge on the fake receipt he sent me, and so much was wrong with it because it was completely typed up. I would send it here but I’d have to blur information since my info is on it. I reported him to OfferUp and hopefully you guys can have some fun with this jackass!
