If you look at cars on offerup im sure you’ve seen only about a million of these scams. I finally got fed up and wanted to find out how the scam works, essentially you contact the ‘seller’ they say they want you to use ebay motors to sell it to you from a far away state then you receive a fake ‘ebay motors’ email asking for the amount owed usually 1-2k in ebay gift cards. The scammer assures you that ebay holds the money in their account and they only get paid once you get the car deliverd. This of course never happens and they run away with 1-2 grand in ebay gift cards.

These scammers are a dime a dozen on offerup but if we spam their ebay email account we may make it alot harder for them to sift through the real and fake gift cards.
