Australian Tax Office Scam going around again.
The number isn’t working after the news/media exposed them for being a scam.

What’s the number? 1800777569? ATO Scammers normally block silent numbers and sometimes block numbers that they haven’t called. I’ll try ringing using one of my throw away numbers during business hours tomorrow.
Edit: just checked 1800777569 using Numbering system | ACMA and it’s not a working number

Cause I figured that when the number wasn’t connecting, I thought they got caught or something.
@Tails#74208 I wasn’t sure of the last digit in the phone number. Because the number comes up as “Spare” in the “Numbering system” it would appear to be a number that doesn’t work. Maybe it was working when they called you, but I’m not really sure. I use www.reverseaustralia.com and press F3 and search for “ATO” and “tax” to find recent ATO/tax scammers with Australian numbers and only 10% of the numbers accept calls from silent numbers but you need to display a throw away number to get through to the other 90% of scammers and they only answer during business hours.
