'nother SSA scam - 213-588-0879

Mr. Eric Brown is a fun guy to play with… but not too smart. When he said that I had to be honest because it was a federally recorded line, I said I would be, but he would have to be honest as well. He agreed. Then he started into the script and got kind of upset that I (1) didn’t have a house (live in an RV), and (2) didn’t care much about my bank account because there wasn’t much money in it and all my cash and other valuables were safe and sound with me. Went back and forth for a good 15 minutes, frustrating the crap out of him every way I could. Then he said something like I needed to be honest and disclose my asset information, as this was a very serious matter and he was an authorized SSA agent.

I told him that i might be more inclined to do so if I were speaking with a senior SSA official, and that he had promised to be honest with me, but hadn't exactly been so up to that point. He asked what I was talking about... and I said "For example, you claim to be in Cincinnati, but the phone number is for Los Angles, and my 'tracing' software on the line shows that you aren't even in the US." He freaked out, and said that it was a forwarded line that he was using, and where my software showed him... I told him that it was pointing to somewhere outside the US, somewhere in India. He said that he was not in India, and the SSA doesn't have any offices in India... I admitted that the SSA doesn't have any offices in India, but they do have lots of call centers with scum pretending to be SSA employees. I asked again to speak with a __real__ senior SSA official, and he said he would transfer me. Guess what happened next ?!?!?

Say your Julia Ramerez or John Rubio Gonsolis … He laughed hard when I said I was her

Well, this was odd.

Just called it for the 22nd time after mostly getting connected to other scambaiters (including Draco) or some drunk guy saying "hello" 5 times then hanging up, this guy actually had a friendly calm attitude and when I mentioned the SSA, he said this isn't the SSA and it's his personal home number and he's not related to the SSA at all, even though he had an indian accent and typical background noise of other indians talking in the room. It seemed like 40% legit after the whole conversation.

I was friendly with him (because I was keeping in mind that he could of had his number stolen by scammers and I didn't want to harass an innocent indian man) but still suspicious, when I asked whats the background noise then if he's not in a scam office, he paused and went uhhh, then said he was having a family gathering and they were "drinking like beer and stuff". After that and I was still a little convinced he was a legit innocent indian man that got his number stolen by the bad ones, I said "So imma be real with you, this number was found on an online scammer forum listed as a Social Security Administration scammer, so if I reached you by this number, how are you not related to this scam?", he sounded shocked and was doing the uhhh thing again, so I filled in for him "They must've stole your number then" and he said yes it could of been, he also said the "be careful theres a lot of those scams out there man" thing and then we hung up peacefully.

Of course this could be an actual scammer just trying to hide away and make me look embarrassed, and i'm a 14-year-old beginner scambaiter so i'm inexperienced, but the way he said an actual indian-sounding name when I first called him, his calm and friendly voice far from agitated, didn't hang up on me, and how he explained it with saying how you have to watch out for scams out there in the world, actually made me think he was an innocent man that got his number stolen. Especially that this SSA 7464 system commonly redirects people to other scambaiters, i was thinking maybe it was a redirection thing.

Sorry for the big paragraphs, i'm bad at compacting stories.

@Draco#166711 Alright thanks for telling me. Didn’t mean to get this site attacked by indian scammers. Also I have noticed a bit of them change their attitude just because I’m 14 (though I don’t tell them my age), they either think i’m a woman or they will be like “Do you use this computer for anything else other than for school?”
