(888) 922-5724 is an Inteliquent number, with the scammers answer as “Suppoat for McAfee, AVG, etc.” Baiting with virtual machine and a fake $585.99 invoice.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:

  • The scamner will falsely claim a hacker has “unauthorized access to my IP,” prompting me to install UltraViewer, though they never fully connected to my virtual machine.
  • I was asked to get a “one-time security firewall protection” for $600-700 with my nonexistent Visa or Mastercard. I told her that my cards don’t have enough balance to satisfy the one-time payment, so she told me to take my computer to a store for assistance, so I tunak’d her.
