The first bhenchod I spoke to was too deaf to provide “suppoat,” so I called back and got ahold of Vivek, who first wanted to check my settings before asking me to sign up for a 1-year plan for $149 or 3-year plan of $299.
- Vivek then revealed their company as PCMagic Software Private Limited and wanted me to provide my card details on the LogMeIn Rescue chat, which I refused on the grounds that my bank will only allow the payment to go through on a “secure web portal.”
- Vivek then re-introduced the reseller as “Rediscover System USA, Inc.” and then asked me to make the payment on their fake PayPal page.
